Final re-cap of the 2023-2024 school year

On June 6th we had our annual crossover assembly at Snohomish High School. This assembly is one of the most anticipated events l every year as it signals seniors’ graduation and grade advancement for everyone else. Snohomish High School has done splendidly this year in many different aspects. Some noteworthy things include:
Fall
Girls Cross Country – Team qualified for the state tournament
Girls Soccer – Qualified for the district tournament
Girls Swim and Dive – 2nd place in 3A Wesco League
Boys Tennis – 1st place in 3A Wesco North League
Volleyball – Qualified for district tournament
Junior Girls Won Powderpuff Football (Class of 2025)
Snohomish High School Outstanding Scholastic Team Awards (GPA 3.5-4.0)
Girls Cross Country – Team GPA 3.81
Girls Soccer – Team GPA 3.6
Snohomish High School Distinguished Scholastic Team Awards (GPA 3.0-3.49)
Boys Cross Country – Team GPA 3.08
Girls Swim and Dive – Team GPA 3.46
Boys Tennis – Team GPA 3.31
Volleyball – Team GPA 3.2
Winter
Girls basketball – 5th place in the state tournament; District 1 champions; 2nd place Wesco league; WIAA Outstanding Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.622.
• Boys basketball – Qualified for the district tournament; WIAA Distinguished Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.225.
• Girls wrestling – 1st place in regionals and 6th place in state as a team; Malia Ottow finished 3rd place in state and 1st place in regionals; Jillian Hradec took 4th place in state and 1st place in regionals; Chloe Cahan received 8th place in state and 1st place in regionals; Elyssa Cotton placed 8th in state; WIAA Distinguished Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.2.
• Boys wrestling – 3rd place Wesco league; 6th place in regionals; Magnus Schwabenbauer received 8th place in state and 1st place in regionals.
• Boys swim and dive – 10th place as a team in the state tournament; 3rd place Wesco North; Owen Collins school record in 200 individual medley coming in 5th place in state and 3rd place in state in 200 breaststroke; Torsten Hokanson set a district record in 100 freestyle and received 3rd place in state in 200 freestyle and 2nd place in state in 100 freestyle; Connor Colloton broke a 23-year-old school record in the 500-freestyle coming in 5th place in state and 9th place in state in the 100 backstroke; Torsten Hokanson, Owen Collins, Connor Colloton, and Landon Crocker came in 10th in state in the 400-freestyle relay. WIAA Distinguished Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.167.
• Girls gymnastics – 8th place at districts; three athletes qualified for state.
Spring
• Girls’ Badminton – WIAA Distinguished Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.344.
• Baseball – 4th place in Wesco league, qualified for the district tournament, and WIAA Distinguished Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.168.
• Boys’ Golf – Palmer Mutcheson, Drew Hanson, Hudson Capelli, Tyson Olds, Cade Strickland, and Jackson Dammann took 4th place in state as a team. 1st place in Wesco league and WIAA Distinguished Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.157.
• Girls’ Golf – 1st place in Wesco league and WIAA Outstanding Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.553.
• Boys’ Soccer – WIAA Distinguished Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.001.
• Fastpitch Softball – Undefeated in WESCO league, 2nd place in districts, 2nd place in state, and WIAA Distinguished Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.346.
• Girls’ Tennis – Hannah Wells and Makenzie Dauer took 8th place in state in doubles. Undefeated season and 1st place in Wesco league. WIAA Outstanding Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.634.
• Boys’ Tennis – Cade Strickland took 8th place in state in singles.
• Girls’ Track and Field – Baella Stich took 3rd place in state for the long jump. WIAA Outstanding Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.595.
• Boys’ Track and Field – Kai Yoder 8th place in state in the 800m. WIAA Distinguished Athletic Award with a team GPA of 3.38
